Any impact to CCW permit info???
This just got my attention:
Pennsylvania's open records bill clears another hurdle
http://www.mcall.com/news/nationworl...,1622358.story
"The state House on Monday unanimously approved an amended Senate bill that opens more government records to the public and sent it back to the Senate for a possible vote today."
Will approval of this bill open PA permit holders to identity exposure - similar to incidents in Ohio and elswhere where over-zealous newspaper writers and Anti's posted names, addresses, etc either in the news or on open web sites??Last edited by sjohn26; February 12th, 2008 at 01:39 PM.

Re: Any impact to CCW permit info???
They would first have to strike the specific wording of the Title 18 law stating that our LTCF info is not public. With Bill DeWeese (D-Greene) and Sam Smith (R-Jefferson) both being extremely pro-gun and protective of our rights - I highly doubt our LTCF and gun ownership info would be compromised.

Re: Any impact to CCW permit info???
As Knight said, no.
The statute would not overrule §6111 (g) p3.1
(3.1) Any person, licensed dealer, licensed manufacturer
or licensed importer who knowingly and intentionally obtains
or furnishes information collected or maintained pursuant to
section 6109 for any purpose other than compliance with this
chapter or who knowingly or intentionally disseminates,
publishes or otherwise makes available such information to
any person other than the subject of the information commits
a felony of the third degree.

Re: Any impact to CCW permit info???
It's ok to be a nitpicker when you're dealing with the specific wording of the law and we appreciate the nitpicking.

Re: Any impact to CCW permit info???
I saw that today and was wondering the same thing. Seems some newspapers in other states have taken great glee in printing LTCF information about people. Your neighbor, your boss, your kids teacher and who ever have the right to know.
