PA laws for shooting near other properties
A while back, I had a paper publication from the PA Game Commission, and somewhere in it, the laws about how what distances you must be from other properties when shooting were covered. Does anyone know where I can find this information online? I need to do some measuring from where I'll be shooting on my property to adjoining properties, and also would like to just read the laws again.
Thank you

Re: PA laws for shooting near other properties
Here's the only regulation I know about. Notice it specifically talks about hunting, not target shooting. It's taken from the online "Hunting digest" on the state website.
Safety Zones: It is unlawful to hunt for, shoot at, trap, take, chase or
disturb wildlife within 150 yards of any occupied residence, camp,
industrial or commercial building, farm house or farm building, or
school or playground without the permission of the occupants. It is
unlawful to shoot into a safety zone, even if you are outside of the
zone. Driving game, even without a firearm or bow, within a safety
zone without permission is unlawful. For comparison, think of a
safety zone as about one and a half football fields. Hunting on
hospital and institutional grounds, and in cemeteries, is also pro-
hibited. It is unlawful to discharge a firearm within 150 yards of a
Game Commission vehicle whose occupants are releasing pheas-
ants. The safety zone for archery hunters statewide, including those
using crossbows, is 50 yards. Archery hunters carrying
muzzleloaders during any muzzleloader season must abide by the
150-yard safety zone regulation. Around playgrounds, schools, nurs-
ery schools or day-care centers, the safety zone remains 150 yards

Re: PA laws for shooting near other properties
Thanks y'all. I should have specified that this is for target practice only, and only pistols.

Re: PA laws for shooting near other properties
Although the 150yd is a good reference it refers to game law only.
If your town or township has regs regarding discharging firearms those would be what matters.FUCK BIDEN

In addition to the posts above:
Noise ordinances and reckless endangerment apply as well. Also, if your bullets are landing on other folks' properties trespassing can apply too.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: PA laws for shooting near other properties
Thanks. Shooting is no problem in my township.
And luckily, the adjoining property is my sister-in-law's, although in order to hit her property, I'd have to shoot about 40' above the target. One of the benefits of living on a hillside is the whole property is a backstop in waiting.

Plus for the most part it seems like if you have the PERMISSION of the people near a property that your good to go.(with a few exceptions)

Find your township here to see what ordnances are posted. Assuming its accurate, don't know why it wouldn't be. Yea, you could call and ask, but who knows what the "opinion" is of the person answering the phone.
