    Default Best Sporting Clays Facility?

I am looking for a decent sporting clay facility within reasonable driving distance of Pittsburgh. I am having a friend in town next month and need a nice course to take him to.

    Thanks guys.

I'm not sure whether you want a sanctioned place or not. But if you just want to shoot some pigeons I would spend $25 bucks and buy a launcher and then head out the the state game lands off the Wexford exit on I-79. Just before you get to the range there is a pulloff on the right and a nice area you can shoot clay pigeons.

I really liked shooting McCrea's near Worthington, PA. Wooded courses with varying birds and positions.

They have a neat little shop too....
You may want to give the Busted Flush a call in Titusville. (is about two hours reasonable?)

I am not sure how far it is from you in Pittsburgh, but the very best sporting clays course on the entire east coast is in Factoryville at Nemacolin 'Shooting Academy'. Simply the very best targets in the very best course anywhere around. 1st class!

JohnUSCG. If you mean the course at Nemacolin Woodlands in Farmington PA that would be about an hour or so South of PGH.

Yup, that is the one I am talking about. An hour is a bit of a drive, but I must say that it is definitly a course you will want to shoot if you are serious about Sporting Clays.

Might want to check out Lawrence county sportsmens association also. I'm not sure about the specifics because it's a private club but I know they allow non-members to shoot at least on certain days. Everything was brand new just a few years ago. About 30-40 minutes from the airport just off Rt.60 http://www.shootlcsa.com/

    Niemacolin Woods is FANTASTIC.

From Pittsburgt... about an hour or so. It is just past "Falling Waters"

I have stayed at the resort a few times, and ALWAYS go to the "Shooting Academy".

You will NOT be disappointed with this facility.

Nemacolin doesn't sound too bad. $70 for 100 clays at 15 stations. Anyone know how that compares with other sporting clay courses?

    Nemacolin Prices are:

    50 clays - $50
    75 clays - $60
    100 clays - $70
