    Default Might as well share...

So as you all know yesterday was a beautiful day. I had several errands to run and did so with my Taurus PT1911 on my hip.

After completing my next to last stop I took off my sweatshirt before getting into the car. It was rather warm already and I was enjoying the day. I arrived at my last stop (Walmart), got out of the car and started walking toward the store. About halfway there I realized that I had left my sweatshirt in the car and was OC. I thought about it for a moment, said a mental **** it and continued into the store.

That's it... A total nonevent, but a first for me.

May they all go like that. Mine have. Except the drunk. He was a hoot.

Glad it worked out for you! My first time OCing was the same way last year. Warm day, errands to run. Took off the jacket at the first stop then never bothered to put it back on.

I had never attempted to conceal my handgun beforehand. If the jacket I wore in winter hid it, fine. If it didn't, whatever.

It was a surprise for the gas station manager when I went in that day. He looked down at the 686 on my hip and said, "Dang, the college kids working for me were right. They always said 'Hey, did you see the gun on that guy's hip?' any time you wore a coat. I thought they were messing with me!"

Aside from the BJ's manager encounter and the Wal-Mart shopper encounter, all of my days carrying have been good ones.

Great job OP. 999/1000 it tends to be a non-event.

WalMart does follow state law as a matter of corporate policy. This policy is for customers and is separate from its policy for employees. If I read your post right it sounds like you are saying your wife OCs in her store. Your wife might want to make sure she is OK to carry while off the clock. I'm pretty sure employees are not permitted to carry while working in the store.

There is no state law which requires stores to allow open or concealed carry by either customers or employees. Legally, they are free to discriminate on that basis.
