i wouldn't carry at 6 o'clock, some say if you fell backwards on it you'd break your back.

Sounds like you're sweeping yourself when you draw. Last thing I want under pressure is to be pointing the gun at me.
Also requires more time to draw since the gun is behind you. The quicker you can get on target the better.

Retention issues, risk of spinal injury, slow/easily intercepted draw.
There are better ways to carry.

I assume you mean small of the back. Many do it or they wouldn't sell a holster for it. It works for deep concealment but isn't really practical. Having rotator cuffs shredded in both shoulders it's not even an option.

One hole in my backside is enough. I carry at 3 o'clock open or concealed.

Re: anyone cc at 6 o'clock
My number one concern would be falling on the gun and hurting my spine. I remember reading about a story of an LEO who had carried at small of back. He was involved in a fight with a suspect that went to the ground, he landed on his gun, and permanently injured his spine.
The odds of that happening is probably pretty darn low, but I wouldn't want to risk it.
Just my 2 cents.

Plenty of people do it so it must work for some people. I tried it and never was able to find a way to make it comfortable for me. Definitely keep that risk of spinal injury in mind that everybody is talking about. Scary stuff.

I carry all day long.

I don't think the 6 position would give me a quick enough draw, but I know at least one friend who does so and likes it. I carry at 4:00 concealed, and 3:00 open carry.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mK2JYfZAmA When will America become America?

It looks good in the movies - didn't Eddie Murphy and Magnum P.I. carry that way - sans holster.
