Default Best place to shoot near Altoona?

Ive lived here in Altoona for about 10 years, but I still drive up to Patton area to shoot. With gas going up and my new car getting such poor gas mileage I was hoping to find a closer place to shoot.
Id want to be shooting ARs and Aks, as well as 9mm .40 and .45. 300 yards would be cool, Id also prefer it not to be too busy on the weekdays.
    Whats my best bet?

Bellwood Sportsman might be an option.

I shoot at hollidaysburg, i have friends that are members at both riggles gap and HSC. I don't know what Riggles is like as i have never been there.

I really like HSC, only downside is there is only a 200 yard rifle range. On the upside, they host the only local IDPA and USPSA shoots in the area that i know of. They also do cowboy action and started shooting 3 gun last year.

Riggles Gap ain't to bad. Its fifty dollars a year. No sponsor is needed. The fifty dollars includes wife and kid. It has 2 lower pavilions that span about 100 yards together. 25 50 and 75 yard ranges and a crappy pistol range. 22 steel plates and bowling pins. The upper range is 100 200 and steel further out. Shotgun range, flyfishing pond. Your probably about the same distance from each. Hollidayburgs is actually a little closer as I live in the same general area as you.
I have no expeirence with holidaysburg. I have been a member at riggles gap since I was a kid. I wish horseshoe curve wasn't anti ar15 as it is only five minutes from my house. Here is the link to riggles gap. http://www.blaircountygame.com/ It also goes by blair county fish and game. If you would like to check out riggles gap let me know. It is hit or miss if it is busy. The days i thought nobody would be there it was packed and vis versa. Most of the week you will have the range to yourself or close to it.
    Here is hollidaysburgs website

The longest ranges around here are portage and reed. reed is 1000 yards (never been there) and portage pistol has a gated range for members that starts at 25 and goes to 500 yards.

Couple of my freinds said Hollidaysburg would be better for me, I was thinking about coming out on Sunday to look around. If I decide to can I just join up or do I need sponsered and can I do it on a Sunday?
