Is a sub-16" Barrel an NFA Item
I plan on purchasing a 14.5" barrel and having a Battlecomp 1.5 compensator permanently attached to it before assembling it into an upper. Is the barrel an NFA item prior to assembling it or can I purchase it over the Internet without having to fill out any additional paperwork?

The barrel alone isn't an NFA item.

That set-up requires no paperwork once it is installed.
