What condition do you go with?
I've lurked for a little while on here. I've been open carrying since my 18th birthday. So roughly a year. I initially started carrying condition 3, then I moved to condition 1, now I pretty much always carry condition 0. But I want to know what you guys go with and why.

Re: What condition do you go with?
Condition 0: round in chamber, hammer cocked, safety Off
Condition 1: round in chamber, hammer cocked, safety On
Condition 2: round in chamber, hammer uncocked
Condition 3: empty chamber, hammer uncocked, loaded magazine in weapon
Condition 4: empty chamber, no magazine in weapon
More or less, depending on the type of firearm, obviously if you carry a hammer-less gun and you chamber it, it's the equivalent of the hammer cocked.

Re: What condition do you go with?
I carry condition 0 (though technically I'm not "hammer cocked", because my usual carry guns are striker fired).

Re: What condition do you go with?
Well both my guns are Double Action, but I keep the safety on on my Bersa, even though its not necessary; I never have the safety on my S&W Bodyguard on, so I guess that would be condition 1 or 0 depending on the gun.
What in god's name is the point of carrying condition 4?

Re: What condition do you go with?
Well, let me start my response by saying I am not old enough for a CCW so I do have to unload it when I get into my vehicle, but other than that I keep it condition 0. What made me decide to go condition 0 is the fact that in the event of something happening where I would have to defend myself or others I don't want to add the loading time. HOWEVER, I have recently changed over from a hammer to striker fire. But I'm always aware of my surroundings and the people around me, and I have had someone try to un-holster my gun before, so I'm pretty cautious on how I position myself so that no one can disarm me. The only times the gun leaves my holster is when I'm either loading/unloading it (ie: getting in my vehicle), I'm at my home, or at a gun store and I'm showing it to someone. So I see no reason to not carry condition 0, after all I carry for protection and why wouldn't one want to have the most efficient way to do so.
