    Default Water Transfer Printing

Has anyone tried one of this DIY water transfer printing kits for camo of a rifle?

I'm considering trying one for my 15-22 but not sure if it's worth it.

They look nice, but not very durable. Think thermal finishes such as Norrells/KG and Cerakote for best durability.

Durability isn't that much of an issue as the rifle is only a 15-22 and therefore not getting alot of abuse. However, the kits do come with a clear coat and apparently you apply that a few times.

I guess I should say that I pulled the trigger and ordered a kit from http://www.ezdipkits.com/ I thought about a standard camo, but decided to have some fun. i went with the "Silver Dead Hedz" Looked wicked and still kinda darker.

I will be making a video of the process and posting on my youtube channel... provided I don't screw it up too bad.

No video, and still not done, but I have done 5 of my magazines. Attached are pictures of one of them. Might be a little hard to see.

It is time consuming but there is something satisfying about doing it yourself and it coming out looking good.

As for durability, enough coats of clearcoat and everything is as hard as a rock.

Next up is the upper and lower of the 15-22.
