Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - APPALACHIAN PROMOTIONS
Sorry to say but after the last few shows, I don't see myself going back to this one. I'm sure there are plenty of people who enjoy it, but there were too many random tables and not enough firearms. I'll be happy to give it another shot if it starts to turn around.
Good luck.

Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - APPALACHIAN PROMOTIONS
I haven't been to every show put on in the State, so I can't say this is the worst one, but of all the ones I've been to, it is.
I would never set foot in this show ever again and I wouldn't encourage a soul to go to it.

Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - APPALACHIAN PROMOTIONS
Been to this show a few times in hopes it will be better, but it's always a let down. Too many random tables, always more knives and other random stuff than firearms... Wouldn't be so bad if it was free to enter, but your just paying to look at junk with little walking and standing room.
3O,OOO,OOO legal firearm owners killed no one yesterday.

Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - Appalachian Promotions
Hahahahaha, this show I swear...
Whenever the armory is in view I start to get old, wartime-like flashbacks, "oh lord, the parking..." Armory Gun Show Parking™, as always, was hilarious, even better since the "back lot" wasn't open! On the adjacent side of Southampton Road there are other parking lots, we probably shouldn't be parking there, but oh well... strength in numbers, right? Keep this in mind if you decide to go this weekend.
As for the show it was "same shit different weekend"; 60% knives, 30% guns, 10% everything else... however, there were a number of not-terrible looking Mosin M44's for around $180. There was a pile of 50cal and 30cal ammo cans (with varying amounts of rust, though still decent) for pretty cheap.
For all the bad reviews this show gets (and deserves), the crowd seems to increase exponentially. This was by far the most crowded gun show ever in the history of gun shows. Think Valley Forge crowd... crammed into a grade-school gym! It was a sight to behold... actually I had no other choice, I had to behold! I couldn't move!

Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - Appalachian Promotions
Was there today really didnt want to go but I figured what the heck Im usually working the weekend there's a gun show (my lousy luck) My friend asked me to let him know if there where any decent 1911 like Springfield Armory or Colt
all they had was Chiappa and Taurus. Other than that 1 over priced BCM in the front hallway and LMT and COLT 6940 I bought some ammo and rolled
Disappointed as usual

Re: Philadelphia Army National Guard - Appalachian Promotions
I was there when it opened and saw plenty of Springfield and other non Taurus guns, including a 1911 mil spec right by the door when you come in. I noticed it right away because I own one and they wanted 30 bucks more than I paid for mine. I would also dispute the gun to knife ratio. There were far more gun tables than knife tables. Also a good collection of laser sites. They had piles of pistol grip pump action mossbergs going for $299...would have bought one if I didn't think my wife would kill me. Many Glocks and Sigs as well. Most of the ammo was overpriced IMO, but I did manage to grab 500 rounds of 45acp in boxes of 50 for 16 each. Cheap independence brand stamped Blaser so we'll see how it runs through my 1911. Also grabbed a couple cheap $8 7 round mags but they ended up in the trash at the range in the afternoon as they both ended up being flimsy crap.
BTW, I looked at every gun case at every table and only saw two Taurus guns in the hour I was there...the rest were all high quality stuff, but overpriced in my opinion.
