i dont know what Im doing. AR barrel questions inside.

Ok, so I have a dilemma. I have 400 to spend on a barreled upper. I can get the bcm standard mid length, or the psa FN barreled mid length. The benefits of the psa is that I know the barrel will be gtg, I refuse to believe that a manufacturer like FN would let turds leave their facility. The benefit of the bcm is that I know nothing of where the parts came from, but bravo co. is willing to put their name behind the entire upper. It is going on an SAA aero lower i built with a dpms lpk, magpul furniture, and a psa buffer kit. I will be trying to source a colt bcg for it.

My experiences with ARs is limited to "Go to armory, pick up my A4, qualify, clean rifle, return to armory, repeat next year"

BCM is top notch, no need to worry. I'd be more leary of the PSA before the BCM and would have no problem buying either, if that makes sense to ya.

BCM is GTG, they actually delayed the release of their barrels/barreled uppers because the barrel extensions they recieved did not meet the rockwell hardness specifications. Would anyone have noticed them being out of spec? Probably not. However the simple fact that they delayed their product release that long speaks volumes about not only their adherence to manufacturing standards, but moral standards as well. There is a reason that the company has gone from Paul's garage to a 30,000 sq. ft. facility in only 6 years.
