New Glock Barrel Markings
Hey everyone, I just bought a NIB Glock 23 Gen 3, I noticed it has new markings on the barrel that are unlike the markings on my old glock which was also a gen 3. On the barrel hood there is a [.40 (Pentagon with dot in center)] and also the Glock logo has a stamp (AT) to the right of the logo. also the mags have a "2" and have different cut outs to lock into place. Anyone has some insight to what these markings stand for?

Re: New Glock Barrel Markings
The cuts on the mags are for gen 4 compatability. On the gen 4's the mag release is switchable from side to side so the mags need to be notched on both sides. Not sure what your barrel markings are as I never really looked into it.

Pretty sure the pentagon means Glock polygonal rifling. No sure about the rest.

Thanks! i figure ithe pentagon was a reference to the polygonal rifling, and thanks for the info on the mags, I will have to keep researching the AT ( which might be "Austria") from what i have been reading in other forums.

Re: New Glock Barrel Markings
This thread says the pentagon indicates the grade of steel. Also, it says if there is a dot in the center it indicates more chamber support.
thefiringline.com thread
My Gen 4 G23 has a dotted pentagon.
(I haven't heard one way or the other officially from Glock.)

Re: New Glock Barrel Markings
Wow I would love to talk to a glock rep, if that is true about the "supported" barrel and steel type that would be awesome cause ive been looking at buffalo bore .40 S&W +P ammo, but it can only be fired out of supported barrels.
