    Default Vehicle storage

What do you use for storage in your vehicle? I'm looking for something for my truck, lockable, behind or under the seat. Either bolted in place or cable locked to the seat frame. A quick Google found this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HBB15U

I haven't used it yet, but I have this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details.

It wouldn't deter more than a casual smash 'n' grab, and it stank when I got it (reviews warned me of this - it needs time to air out before use due to something smelly used in the manufacturing), but it's nice to have the option if I need it. It included a steel cable.

I would rarely need to lock my gun in my vehicle so locking my doors + out of sight + secured to the vehicle and another lock I think this might be okay for the price. The reviews all claim smelly foam lol so I thought maybe use the foam from my case or remove it all together since it would also be holstered.

I literally was looking at the same things tonight and i came up with this http://www.amazon.com/Bulldog-Mounti...ef=pd_sim_sg_2 . It meets my needs for stowing my pistol in conceal carry holster and has just enough room for another mag or even my wifes sub-compact if staggered. Not a bad price either and has a mounting bracket plus steel cable. All in all not a bad deal and looks sturdy. Gonna go ahead and pick one up unless someone has had some serious objections.

Back in 2008 we had a group buy here for this one:

    http://forum.pafoa.org/266087-post-1.html

I bought 4, all keyed the same, one for each of our (wife and me) vehicles, two cars, two bikes. It's not unbeatable, but it is pretty secure. Good for temporary lock up, like running into the Post Office or other "prohibited" places.

Ya, thats exactly what im going for, obviously not permanent vehicle storage but good enough to deter the thief from taking the risk of wasting time prying or ripping it open.

I just bought 2 of the link i posted before and they should be here Tuesday to Thurs of next week (2-21-12 - 2-23-12) i'll post some practical pics and thoughts when i get them in hand.

Im going to see if I can find one at the gun show this weekend, if not I'll be ordering one. It looks like I will be able to slip it between seats.

I have this one. The box seems pretty tuff the combo lock is fair. Wash the foam in simple green and it will get rid of the odor for good.

There was a thread here a few weeks ago about one of these inexpensive "security boxes"... apparently Big Lots has them for about $20.

I just ran across an interesting video on how easy some of these things are to break into. Some of the more expensive ones are even easier than the cheaper ones!

Hopefully it'll help with your final decision. It can be seen here: http://www.lesjones.com/2012/02/15/h...lar-gun-safes/

Knowing how to get in may help you keep people out!
