RIA ( Armscor ) 1911
well its been a while since I posted .. I have been a little out of touch for the last 2 or 3 yrs ..
but I picked up as the title says a Rock Island Armory 1911 ... thought I would see what others think of it ... It had a good bit of work done too it by a gunsmith friend of mine .. it has adjustable sights on it now the feed ramp and such have been polished up .. its got a nice set of grips on it ..
Im working on resizing the images and as soon as I get those done I will post them

Re: RIA ( Armscor ) 1911
There have been a lot of posts on them - I own two - can't be beat, especially for the price ! I have a 45 commander and a 38 Super. Best bang for the buck in a 1911 by far. Look forward to the pics. Here are mine - did a little cosmetic work on the 45, and new grips on the 38 Super.
Congrats, enjoy !

I like my recently aquired Tactical model. I was surprised at how accurate it was and how it has fed every reload from 155gr SWC to 200gr RNFP.Last edited by Sparxfly72; February 16th, 2012 at 09:08 PM.

@ Xring - I'm planning on getting a 9mm RIA tactical and refinishing it similar to yours, OD with black parts and grips

Great firearm, I own two tacticals.
Go onto the 1911 forum and you will see a link for Rock Island name brand. Large community of followers that will be a great help if the need arises. I know of no other make of gov. 45 that has such an enthusiastic group of followers. They even out cheer the Kimber Crowd.

RIA's definitely seem like a lot for the money! I may have to pick one up eventually, right now I'm on a revolver kick.

Great gun. I bought 9mm tactical for for wife, and I, eh she loves it.
My only dislike is their trigger on tactical. It look weird, and desperately needed a over travel stop. I replaced my wife's with Fusion shirt trigger with over travel Stop(along with few other goodies). And its a sweet shooter now.
I would post pics, but Xring has it for cerakote and few other small things...Last edited by Mity2; February 17th, 2012 at 02:17 AM.

Mark me down as a happy owner too. Just kind of plain Jane tac .45 for me. But with pretty USAF grips.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.
