Sheriff's Office in northeastern PA ?

I'll be renewing my non-resident permit this coming April. In the past I used the Centre County Sheriff's office because everything was done by mail and they were very accommodating. Now the law requires that I pick up the renewal application in person. I live on Eastern Long Island so I'm looking for a Sheriff's office as close to home as possible. Any suggestions?

Slight correction, the law doesn't require it, but no Sheriff to date has been willing to call out the PSP and the PCCD on that fact.

I don't know the northeastern Sheriffs too well, hopefully someone comes along with information about one that can help.

Northampton County Sheriff is in Easton, in the courthouse lower level.

From LI cut across lower Manhattan. Holland Tunnel to I-78. With no traffic it's about an hour's drive from the Holland Tunnel to Easton.

My experience with the SO was good. Very courteous, pleasant folks there.

You can still get an application online and fill it out before you go to the sheriff's office. But you must apply in person so they can take your photo and get your signature and enter both into the new system.

Op, you can do it out by me , Monroe county.

Hop on the LIE or GCP to the Van Wyck North (678) go over one of the Bridges Whitestone or Troggs Neck, to CBE , Take CBE over the George Washington Bridge, to I 80 west , stay on I80 west to Stroudsburg PA, get off at the 307 exit to main street , go on main street to about 5 or 6 st. and ask for the courthouse , it is on the first floor , the Girls are nice especially tthe pretty one , they will take care of you , just bring cash with you though.
THey will take your picture at the same time.

The Sheriff in Pike county is gun friendly. When I was renewing mine a few years ago there was a guy from New York State picking his up. Still you should call first before making the trip.
