Default Anyone have ANY info regarding purchasing a SPHINX pistol?

to my knowledge, the company KRISS recently acquired SPHINX Pistols from Switzerland and will either be importing them or manufacturing US versions of the pistols. i'm very interested in possibly obtaining one, mainly the SPHINX 3000 Compact for carry purposes.

anyways, if anybody has any info, as their website doesn't give you much and others i've talked to said attempts to contact them via emails were unsuccessful, i'd appreciate it.

    here's some pics as well.

Can't help, that's a new one for me. Just curious of what the prices are like? Looks like a heavy pistol.... I'll do a bit of research on these.

And people say Glock's are ugly...

It also appears to be pretty tall over the top of the grip. Like bore axis...

Maybe it's just the squished slide and taller frame oddity playing tricks on my eye balls.

What are these expected to cost? Any magical features not present in other guns?

I've never owned or touched one, but when I was looking to buy a hi-cap 9mm a few years ago I did look into them. They are extremely expensive, but well built. I couldn't find any negative reports about them other than their price.

IIRC - they were in the $1500 to $3000 range.

haven't been able to track down the prices yet, and it's not that it's a "tall" gun, the slide is actually an internal rail slide, a feature taken from the CZ design im pretty sure. so its kinda like an optical illusion. from everything i've heard, these guns are straight shooters and extremely comfortable and accurate. i've also heard that the way the frame is designed allows to actually get the lower portion of the gun in aluminum to make for an even lighter handgun. but like i said, havent been able to chalk much up as fact on these bad boys yet, no dedicated manufacturer website yet. the pics i got from their facebook page.

    Flat triggers? ?
    Very futuristic.

Like, as in from the distant future. The year 2000.

    Edit to add:

    Here's one on Gunbroker. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=273219113
That is BY FAR the most pictures I have ever seen on an auction listing of anything, anywhere, ever.

the competition models come with flat triggers.

and to those who don't think these guns look good, i beg to differ. something about it is appealing to me personally. different strokes for different folks i guess.

HOLY S***. you weren't kidding. has to be like 1,000 pics of the gun from every angle from every piece lol......

WOW @ The $2,500 price for the buy it now option though.

i wonder if these guys ever have displays at the PA gun shows.....gotta see these in person man. really want to try and get one.
i currently own a SIG P226 Platinum Elite which is a very fine built gun, but these SPHINX firearms seem very well built. i'd have to hold one and get a feel for it before i can really judge it though. everyone who's handled one said they loved it.

Read an article on a sphinx pistol about a year or so back in one the the gun rags - the impression I got was nicely machined, very over priced and very finicky on the type of ammo it liked. For that kind of money I would rather invest in a Sig X5 or P210 - both proven platforms.

Why though? Just get 5 glocks or 4 sigs to carry for cheaper.
