PGH INT Airport carry?
Yes i looked and searched already and i found nothing up to date as far as this pertains. I am picking someone up at the sirport tonight rather late and would like to know if CC is permissable in the airport. I iwll just be going to the baggage claim part to meet them and pick them up, thanks in advance....

Re: PGH INT Airport carry?
If memory serves me right, it's legal to carry in the unsecured areas of the airport. There was a guy from Alaska that was arrested at our airport for holstering his weapon in a non secured area of the airport which is legal and was arrested for it. He later was exonerated for the false arrest. I'd post info, but I recently lost alot of my saved files, Sorry... Someone else will come by and confirm or deny .

Re: PGH INT Airport carry?
Due to preemption the Airport is not a prohibited location...outside the secure areas. Baggage claim is not a secure area so you're good to go.

Re: PGH INT Airport carry?
I've read here, that it is ok in unsecured area's. But at every entrance "firearms" on Airport property is prohibited. I treat it like the Post Office.

Re: PGH INT Airport carry?
I wonder, is the airport considered private property?
PGH is managed by the Allegheny County Airport Authority, which is a municipal authority of the county. Grey area for preemption but not for HB40.
I am not a lawyer, but my common sense tells me it's ok in the unsecured areas.
If you're going to carry, do so concealed (and legally).Last edited by 9orangeletters; February 7th, 2012 at 11:41 AM.

Re: PGH INT Airport carry?
Just found this:
http://www.alleghenycounty.us/police/trav.aspx
2. Be aware that only authorized law enforcement personnel are permitted to carry firearms within the airport proper. No firearm permits are honored at the airport. Personnel carrying firearms on airport property even with a permit run the risk of arrest.
Question to those who frequent airports, What is "the airport proper"? Is that a typo for property? or is it referring to a specific area, as in secured area?
