cleo signoff/aow question

my first question is who is a good person to ask to sign off on my papers in Clinton county or anyone who could do so for avis keep in mind i'm 20 years old and want to build a suppressor

also while i'm at it i want to build a shorty shotgun so my question is if i want it to be an aow can i buy a shotgun with a long stock and put a pistol grip on it or does it have to come with a pistol grip

You want to talk to the Sheriff, who last time we checked was OK with signing the paperwork.

A 20 year old is fine for building NFA items.

My understanding is that as long as the shotgun was factory built with a pistol grip it can be built as an AOW instead of an SBS.

An AOW must be built on a virgin or pistol receiver and not on an existing long gun.

If you are building it yourself, an AOW will cost you a $200 stamp like a SBS so you might want to build it as a SBS and it will be more versitle.
