Transferring firearms between states

Have you got a pistol permit in NYS? If not, they aren't yours and most likely you can't legally transport them even within the state.

No. Either they are own by him, or owned by you.

Since you appear to be a PA resident, and he appears to be a NY resident, the guns will need to be shipped/delivered to a FFL in PA to facilitate a transfer. And while doing so, both states' respective laws must be obeyed in the process. To merely touch a handgun in NY requires a NY permit, so a NY permit holder or common carrier will be required to deliver/ship the handguns to PA while inside NY.
