    Default semi 22

So, my son has saved some money and he wants a 22 pistol. I've read reviews on just about every 22 pistol there is. He really wants one that says "SIG", but I've read bad things.

I'd like your opinions on which one to buy. Thanks

Like the majority of "What gun should I buy?" threads, the best answer is the one that best fits the hand of the owner. The best way to figure that out is range time. Try and find friends who have what you're interested in, or a range that does rentals. If that's not possible, next best is handling each "possibility" at the gun shop.

Buying something because I or any other forum member said to, or because it was the most popular on a poll is a crapshoot. If you don't mind potentially wasting your money try it that way. If you'd prefer to just buy once and be happy, try the first two options.

Agreed, I guess I should have asked which one is most reliable. I edited my first post to reflect that, but I can't change to poll for some reason.

i have the p-22 and love it. it runs great on premium ammo. from what i understand and have seen the sr 22 runs on most ammo. for that alone, as the guns are very similar, i would suggest the ruger.

My vote was for the NEOS. It was the first handgun I bought. I love mine. VERY easy to take it apart. It eats any kind of ammo u feed it. From lead to HP, no issues. I put over 1,000 rounds threw it in one day & it still ran fine. Dirty as could be, bit ran fine & kept going. I think the final count was very close to 1,500. Did I say how EASY it was to clean…….

My opinion is to get the Ruger.. It's looking pretty good

Might have to trade in my Buckmark

The Sig was apparently designed around CCI mini mags, the Neos just looks too funky for me and I always hear bad stuff about the walther..

    But thats just my opinion..

I'm partial to Rugers. My first handgun was a Mark II.

If he really wants to, its a little cheaper

Tanners has the Ruger MKIII 22/45 for around $250 new.
This is the polymer frame, and metal upper.

(Make sure you watch a youtube takedown video before buying)

I love the design of these....

the all metal design is a little more (just the MKIII not 22/45) at around $309 new.

I'd like to get one of those Rugers. The only thing I don't like is that they don't come with a threaded barrel.
