    Default New carbine to me!

My latest acquisition, an inland rack grade M-1 carbine from CMP south.

Any chance you can get a measure on the barrel ? I have been thinking of ordering one of these. How long to get it, or did you take a trip there ?

You can still get Rack grade Inlands from CMP through their mail order. I've seen some good ones in pictures on the CMP site. I think they're well worth the price.

Nice new "baby" you got there!

Love to hear when someone gets a m1 carb or garand.
I think my Racker is mechanically just as good or better than my service. The stock is quite a bit more beat up though.

I've been happy with all my CMP purchases - not all were "beauties" but they clened up nice and have been reliable shooters. I have worked on both the CMP Inland and CMP Rock-ola "mixmasters" trading parts when I can and buying when I can't to get them back close to factory configuration. It's been a fun way to learn about the carbine production.

    Here's my CMP Inland:

    Here's my CMP Rock-ola:

And this is one of all 3 of my carbines. Inland on top, National Postal Meter in the middle and Rock-ola on the bottom:

The barrel is 18" long as taken from the manual. I was traveling to Anniston, AL and picked it up from CMP south. They had lost of rack grade inlands and a few rockola rack grade, but not much else.

If you go here: http://www.odcmp.com/ you can find out about ordering them. Relatively easy and they will deliver to your front door.

MarkV where did you acquire your magazine pouch from?

My pouch came from one of the guys who has been selling them through the CMP forum - you can find the listed in the Trader's Bulletin Board.
