Had a chat with an office worker.
My buddy works for Wallace and Pancher in Washington County, and absolutely hates it. I'm doing my best to get him back up here, into something a little better.
Well, yesterday I stopped down at the cheese plant, seeking an application for him. They don't have them at the plant, as all of their hiring is done through Callos. I went to the next town over, to Callos' office. When I walked in, I noticed a sign prohibiting firearms. After talking to the lady for a bit about the application process, I asked about the sign.
Me: So, what's with the no guns sign?
Woman: We don't want guns in here.
Me: No kidding, I was just wondering why?
Woman: We don't want disgruntled employees coming in and shooting us.
Me: So that sign is going to prevent that? If a guy snaps, and decides to come in to shoot up the place, he'll stop at the sight of that sign?
Woman: We just want legal footing to stand on if something happens.
Me: If a guy snaps and comes in here shooting, the LAST charge they are going to hit him with is trespassing.
Woman: Yeah, but it would be yet another illegal thing that he did.
Me: Wouldn't murder be illegal enough?
Woman: Well we're not too worried about it.
Me: Then why have the sign?
She stood there looking at me for a second, and then hit me with:
"You've really got an impressive background in criminal tendencies, don't you?"
I told her, " No, I just have a strong background in common sense."
I thanked her for her time, and left. I told my buddy about what happened. He won't be applying. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Re: Had a chat with an office worker.
My boyfriend works at a distribution center. They have a metla detector at the employee entrance. When he asked what for, they told him it was because of past theft of products, and to keep people from bringing weapons in the building. When he asked what would happen if someone brought one in, the foreman said that they'd call the police.

Re: Had a chat with an office worker.
It would make more sense for a "no disgruntled employees intent on revenge" sign

And it would work just as well.

If she put up a sign -
"No Idots allowed in the building"...
Would that keep her out?
The scary thing is they breed and vote.
Just look at who is in the White House.....
