Kudos to Northampton County Sheriffs Dept.
Renewed on December 23 and received my LTCF today. Pretty good considering Christmas and New Years was in there.

About the same as the old Sheriff did mine. Or, at least his office.

Re: Kudos to Northampton County Sheriffs Dept.
Montgomery will allow you to walk in for a renewal and walk out with the license in hand. Now if they would just get rid of the police card for new applicants... has anyone asked the new sheriff about that yet?

Re: Kudos to Northampton County Sheriffs Dept.
I was under the impression all renewals were treated as new applicants, and I know they (illegally) ask new applicants for proof of residency. Did they do this in this instance, as well?

Re: Kudos to Northampton County Sheriffs Dept.
I "renewed" in July. Application handled as new applicant. Even my "renewal" license shows "new".
About a year ago the local newspaper had a comment in an article where the new sheriff said things can change in a persons life in five years during the license term and all LTCF apps are now handled as new.
They contact local police.

HiredGoon- No. Third time and never had a call to my employer
9orangeletters- Yes. They treated it as new. Confused me a bit when I saw "new" on my card. I wasn't aware of that illegality. I did have to provide proof. Interesting, I'll have to find out more about that.
ff36- I love Tioga and envy you! My in-laws have 50 acres there. If I thought I could find a job their immediately I'd move there. Unfortunately, my wife just started a new job here and I'll never get her to leave the grandkids!

Kevin it is a great place to live. There is a great many jobs in this area. The natural gas industry can not get enough workers. They are importing them from Texas,Oklahoma and Canada.
There are adds all the time looking for truck drivers and every other type of job.
