First time out the 6906 was dead on. Took it plinking vs target so don't have a good grouping report but at 25 feet, it made soda cans dance every shot ! Most notable was the minimal recoil - I realize most larger 9's don't have that much recoil to begin with, but this one really absorbs the impact and was very noticeable how little recoil there was.
Did not have any feed or eject issues, overall, very, very nice!
Alright... thank you. Now to narrow down choices.

I'm considering some wood wrap around grips for my 6906 but can't find many. Does anyone know if S&W 59 series grips will fit the 6906? I've found some nice wrap around wood ones that say they are for " Model 59 " pistol ??

I don't believe so. I found this while searching around...

Maybe give 'em a call to double check.

Let me know what you find regardless. I still haven't gotten one of the 6906's. If I could get a nice pair of wood grips to go on one, it might get bumped up on my list.

Those look like they would work - but a little steep $ for me. I'm not overly cheap, but $100+ for checkered - hmmmm. Most wood grips I get are around the $35-$45 mark, highest I've paid are the ones I just bought for my new Kahr at $58. You have to jump on the 6906 or similar model, I was never a huge S&W fan on automatics, but these older buggers are smooth as butter !

I think the 59 series has a taller grip. I dont have a 69 series but I have three 59 series!
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise

I got mine from Robertson Trading Post for $369 - California Dept. of Corrections trade ins as I mentioned and couldn't be happier. CDNN has them though in very good condition for $329, or "select" condition with box and goodies for $369! Go for it, you won't be disappointed. My buddy loved his so much, he ordered the same thing in a single stack too!

Thanks - yeah, the more I looked at it, the more I'm thinking they won't work

Does anyone know how to de-activate the magazine safety? I tried youtube'ing it, but nothing. I hate magazine safeties!

Also, I do have a question to anyone with a 6906. After shooting again last week, I noticed something about the trigger. For lack of a better technical descriptions, I feel a little "crunch" when I pull the trigger and was wondering if that is normal for the 6906. As I pull the trigger back, after a little movement, there is a small "crunch" feel, then smooth again until it fires ? The "crunch" is when in single action, not when in double action!
