None of the current top three, Romney, Gingrich, or Santorum are gun friendly. Romney must think that a pro-2A grade will make him too "right".
Politicians who fear the people seek to disarm them.

People who fear their government's intentions refuse to be disarmed.

Does anyone have a link to the survey answers from Santorum, Gingrich and Paul? I looked on the GOA website and couldn't find it.

The reason for this is the simple fact that all three of these charlatans are statists at heart.
They believe that governments need to direct, coerce, guide, manipulate and control all aspects of human endeavor.
They view themselves as superior of intelligence, better educated, more knowledgeable of the issues of the day.
Part and parcel to that is that no one should have the means to defend against the state. The state, under their stewardship, is infallible and therefore should hold the monopoly on force.
You are a mere mundane and can not be trusted to make the right decisions for yourself, your family or the community in which you live.

I dont like this, but any of them are less of a threat than Obama and a republican congress will not fall on their swords for a republican president the way dems did for obama over obamacare.

GOA did grade the 2012 Presidential Candidates.

    Ron Paul A+
    Rick Perry A
    Rick Santorum B-
    Newt Gingrich C
    Mitt Romney D-
    Jon Huntsman Not Rated

As for RINO Romney, I will not vote for him, if it comes down to him and Barry then, Barry will get my vote. I would rather see the .gov stall than Romney push his bills through.

I can't vote for Mitt. Not when he supported the Gun Ban.

At least with Obama I can count on the Republicans stopping every piece of legislation they can. With Mitt in office, there is no stopping his anti-gun agenda.

Its important that we send a strong message to Republicans that if they are not strongly Pro-Gun rights, we do not accept them.

The Republicans NEED to nominate a strong pro-gun rights candidate. Mitt is not it.

that's essentially what I think too. this is perfectly clear when, for example, the anti-war democrats were so opposed to war when Bush was in office, but now that their guy is in office, they're not so anti-war anymore.
