Derp ! Cmon man, if he resembled the crooks he would have gotten the Viper Treatment obviously. Get with the program
I think thats what I'll call it from now on everytime a story comes out about a Citizen being abused by a cop like the Canton one or Sgt Dougherty.
" They gave him the Viper Treatment ! "
If the Lounge can get " rotzed up " then surely innocent Citizens unlawfully abused by Law Enforcement qualifies for its own moniker.Si vis pacem, para bellum

Re: I knew sooner or later it would happen.
Not that I ever travel to Ohio, but I do have a Utah CFP, and since it could happen someday, I have a quick question:
Regarding these "duty to inform states," does this only involve vehicle stops, or do you have to inform an officer you're carrying when, say, they start interacting with you on foot? Anyone have any clarification on this?
Thanks!
J.

Re: I knew sooner or later it would happen.
That's wear it gets dicey. You have a duty to inform an officer during any "law enforcement purpose" interaction. That's the gray area. It's not so much a question of what a "law enforcement purpose" is as it is what a "law enforcement purpose" could be. If a cop stops to ask you the time, and then proceeds to talk to you about the game last night, you're in the clear. However, after talking about the weather and traffic conditions, he continues on and asks you if you heard anything pertaining to a local robbery that occured last night, you would arguably have to inform.
This is why I advocate people inform Ohio law enforcement immediately upon any kind of verbal one-on-one communication.Last edited by sprrdhawk44; January 5th, 2012 at 03:46 PM.

Regarding the terminology when speaking with an LEO, I was told that using the word "sidearm" is the best because it sounds most professional
