    Default holster for M&p 9.

So before spring time I will be picking up a Smith and Wesson M&P 9. For my glock 19 I carry OWB all the time. I have a blackhawk serpa for that. I thought about getting another blackhawk serpa for the MP. However I want something that protects it more.

i was thinking of the Safariland 6367 ALS Belt Slide Holster.

I don't want to spend more than 110$. my belts are 1.5 inches so the holster MUST fit that size.

The serpas ride high i believe, right? so i would want one like that.

Also when the holster states its a belt drop. what is that exactly?

    Nice.

Does anyone know what is means when they say 1.5 inch belt drop? does it drop that far below the belt?

I have the 6378 Paddle for my M&P 40. It comes with both belt and paddle, 6377 is for belt only. I like it for range and training. But I do not carry my M&P and I think my best bet would be a leather pancake style holster that sits higher and cants forward. But that is just me.

My 6378 served me well. Including a recent weekend training class where I drew allot.

I have a Safariland ALS 6378 for my M&P9c. An excellent quality holster and it did come with both the belt and paddle attachments. I think I paid around $45 for it at the OfficerStore in Coatesville. It's a common duty holster, so they likely have it in stock. http://www.officerstore.com/store/pr...er_right_hand/ -- I think size 9 is for the standard M&P. They have a large stock of holsters in their showroom.

I have 2 holsters regularly used for my M&P and like them both very much.

    1) Comptac-MTAC (leather and kydex) for IWB
    2) Raven Phantom (kydex) for OWB

Both have the ability to make small cant and height adjustments by moving the belt attachment hardware.

The ones that look like their open top, would those do well with open carry?
