Default Change in caliber, specifically Glock

Ive been thinking of making a change from 40S&W to 9mm in my Glock. Mainly for lower recoil, which would benefit me and my wife greatly, as both of us have medical issues that make a day at the range with some pistols a sore one. Ia was also looking at acquiring another 9mm Glock (sub compact) and know I like the handling and shooting of those.

Cost benefit is a nice side with 9mm being a bit cheaper.

(Downside, I would have to find a new Keltec carbine in 9mm... not as easy)

So, With a G22, could I just find someone who wanted to "upgrade" per-say from a G17 and swap barrels, slides and mags? Or is it more complicated than that?

I just thought it would be handy to not have to truck out and pay for the transfer of 2 pistols.

Your best bet is to sell the 40 and buy the 9.

Best Bet is a 9mm Replacement Barrel from Lone Wolf, Swap out the Barrels and Magazine then You'll have 2 guns in one.

    Cost you maybe $150 altogether.

I swapped out my G23 a few years back, So if i want to shoot 9mm it's a simple Barrel swap and the G23 is now a G19 -- Swap it again and it's back to a G23 .40 Cal. (Why buy another Gun if you don't have too?)

You could sell a used 40 and buy a used or brand new 9mm and the difference wouldn't come to $150...and you would have a factory gun with a factory warranty and factory reliability.

Last I checked, glock makes factory 9mm barrels that'll swap into the g22. In fact that's the reason I bought my 22 less than 8 months ago.

    Interesting.

Still doent help me get rid of all the 40 ammo I have, but I guess I could sell it and the Sub2K. Its not that I want the option, I want to switch completely.

456 - I'd like to go from G23 to the 357 sig I think all I need is the barrel the 40 S&W magazine load 357 sig, which is just neck down 40 to 9mm giving 357 MAGNUM ballistic and trajectory. Some say like shooting a rifle inside 50 yards, nearly straight line trajectory. 357 sig might be my upgrade. Which Glock is the 357sig?

OK, just looked into it, not only is it a barrel swap to go with a G17 slide, but an ejector as well. I guess conversion barrels have that figured out, but Ive heard some less than stellar results form those, this wont be a range toy or a race gun... just a standard carry piece.

    good thoughts all around guys.

Can't hurt to place an add in the classified section for a trade. I'm sure there is someone out there wanting to move from a 9 to a 40.
