    Default Star BM-9

I've been looking at these for a while, and finally picked one up. It's one from the Spanish Guardia Civil with their crest, etc.. Came with original box, manual, etc. and is in great shape - I believe it is from 1976. Put some wood grips on it that came unfinished - I actually just used rust-oleum aged iron color with a clear sealer gloss and they came out better than I expected! Looking forward to taking her to the range - anyone own one ?

My brother had one, back in the day, not sure exactly when but not this century. I remember it as a pretty fair little shooter, congratulations.

It is a cool pistol. I have been a fan of some of the Spanish pistols, especially the Astra, for some time. I have an A-80 and and A-200, and hope to be acquiring two unfired A-90's from an estate sale. The A-200 I have has stayed loaded for almost 30 years with the same mag and when I occasionally take it out to blow out the cobwebbs, it still functions just like it is supposed to. That little, tiny magazine is $40 to replace, so be expecting to pay some stiff prices on parts.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

The Star BM has stood the test of time , served the south African Police , military and anti-terror units well up into the 90's when they were replaced by the FM-92 a Beretta 92 copy.

Nice pistols, i also saw a lot of them in Angola and Namibia back in the 80's. Back then i carried a BHP but i wouldnt feel under armed with a BM

Funny how so many people wish they could get their hands on a 9mm "1911" and they've been around for decades.

I've always had an interest in those. I have a little .380ACP that's a close cousin.

    Congrats on the purchase!
