LTCF address change?
I moved last year & never change the address on my LTCF. Do I need to do this? If so, what is the process?

Re: LTCF address change?
Need to? No.
Should? Yes. If the license is revoked you have 5 days to surrender the license, so its a good idea to keep the issuing Sheriff advised of your current address. Also that the issuing Sheriff can send you the app when its time to renew.
Just call the issuing Sheriff and tell them that you moved and would to have the LTCF info updated.
No need to contact current Sheriff if different than issuing Sheriff. (You changed counties.)The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

Re: LTCF address change?
Need to - no.
There is no legal process to do so.
What is recommended is that you inform the issuing sheriff of the address change so they can update their records. This helps for them to mail you your renewal notice. You would of course renew at the sheriff of any new county you reside in, or in the case with Philly - the Chief of Police.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: LTCF address change?
When I moved into Franklin County from Dauphin a couple months ago I called and was advised that there is no need (as others noted) but if I wanted to I could submit the form, change the address but have to pay a renewal fee.
When I called Dauphin County office I was advised to place a sticky piece over the current address of the LTCF so it matched my drivers licence. They also said to remember when I am due to renew so I can send in the paperwork. He didn't seem happy I asked to have his records match.

Re: LTCF address change?
I had similar conversations between Clearfield Co (my issuer) and Cambria Co. Clearfield said they don't need an update, and just renew in my new county.
Cambria said they didn't need one as they didn't issue it...
Neither wanted to do any more than that.

Re: LTCF address change?
I moved from Lehigh to Northampton counties recently, and updated no problem. If I'm still here when I renew and the landscape is the same at the Sheriff's office, maybe I can press the issue of them abiding by the UFA.

Re: LTCF address change?
When I moved 20yrs ago (within Mont Co) , I simply stopped by the courthouse on the way home from work , told the Sherriffs office that I moved. They changed my address in their computer and said next time I renew , the new license would have my new address
