Question Looking for holster opinions for Beretta 96 D full size pistol.

I usually carry concealed a .38 snub or a Glock 27 or in the winter, OWB under a jacket.

I've been thinking of starting to carry my Beretta 96 D Brigadier (PSP Liquor Control buy back).

The only holster I have for it is the PSP duty-issued one with a thumb break and trigger guard retention. This of course won't work for IWB CC and seems awkward for OWB OC.

The 96 is pretty heavy, especially with a full mag of .40s.

Anyone have actual carry experience with this gun and good OC and CC holsters?

I have the Border Marshall in 9mm (Brig slide 92 variant - came out just before the Elite models)

    For OC - I use a Safariland 6287:

Are you sure you are going the IWB way? The Brigadier slide has alot of width and may be better suited for OWB. Either way, I recommend going on ebay and searching Beretta 92 holsters. Remember though that you need to find holsters that will fit Brigadier slides as well.

For IWB, I use a Galco Royal Guard (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.as...D=885&GunID=20). It is a little bit expensive, but it's worth every penny. I have normally carry a Beretta 96F all day long without it being bothersome. It keeps the gun at a nice angle that keeps it balanced.

For OWB, I just use a Serpa Level 2 holster. I set the angle at 30° to keep the gun balanced. For either IWB or OWB, a good quality belt is a must.

Attached are a couple of pictures of me with it.

I know it isn't fancy, but an Uncle Mikes in the waistband holster always worked for my 92FS.

You always end up some very nice PSP buybacks! Jealous... I've worked with PSP LCE quite a bit in the last few years and didn't even know they had an issued side arm non the less an engraved one. Everyone I see is always carrying what appears to be personally owned firearms they have qualled on (glocks, HK, even a 1911).

Sorry, no suggestion on holsters, just pistol envy! If you happen across another one of those, or one of the fish and game conservation officer ones please let me know!

FYI - Brigadier slide Berettas are too wide for Serpa holsters..............

Yeah, and it is in excellent condition (sorry, don't mean to rub it in). I got this from a PSP dispatcher who got it from the LCE officer directly. They are very nice pistols, with or without the patch logos

Given the relatively small number of PSP LCE officers, I wouldn't think that very many were produced with the laser-etched logo.

Sorry, don't know of any others like this available
