Re: Tyler State Park hunt
Yes there were protesters there ! When they first started the hunt they had LOTS of them but over the years it's dwindled a lot. I guess they do prefer to have them hit by cars, the idiots think deer hunters are murders for killing deer ! Whew !
I saw in the paper the shotgun hunters harvested 110 deer at the hunt. I think there's another hunt there coming up for archery only. All hunts are done on a lottery basis.Jesus is Lord !

Re: Tyler State Park hunt
I agree, I mean assuming the hunters are doing clean kills and not wounding or taking iffy shoots and stuff like that it's insanely more humane than a BMW. That's not even mentioning the risk to the human.
My wife and I comment how on our commute we often see a dead deer (and usually raccoons, but not much you can do there) at least once or twice. With normal driving in the area it can be more. I swear one week I saw a new dead one every single day. It's really disheartening to watch a corpse rot on the side of the road.*
The only way to reduce it is to proactively control the deer population since they often lack natural predators. It doesn't only have to be hunting, but it's often an important competent. It's also about compassion seeing starving deer families suffering and doing nothing to reverse that trend is cruelty too!
*Racoons especially as this one we keep seeing looks like it's just sleeping.
