Re: Please Help – Arrested In Westmorland County for Open Carry
IF the description of the events is accurate, only one phrase comes to mind:
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
If not, good luck.Guns are dangerous, but no guns is more dangerous.

im not sure what the big surprise here is? your walking around the streets with a fully loaded AR and another 170 rounds in a back back wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Safety off and ready to shoot. your lucky the cop didnt shoot you. not sure what you were doing, but you need a good lawyer and dont say another word on here.

I think I'm going to have to make a large amount of popcorn for this one.

The only thing that matters is if he was or was not in violation of the law and/or committed a crime. What you like or dislike about it is of no concern.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Re: Please Help – Arrested In Westmorland County for Open Carry
*snicker* First post, and you come in with this attitude?
An AR-15 is not an M-16, that's a pretty big distinction.
As far as "at least 3 people saw you waving an M-16 in public", we only have the cop's side of the story, and rightfully so, the OP did not (and should not) post his side yet because of the impending legal proceedings.
Regardless of his intentions when he left his home with the firearm, as long as it doesn't come to light that he was doing something illegal with it, there is zero distinction between a pistol, bolt-action rifle or military-style AR-15. There is also no prohibition to be on foot with a round in the chamber.
I suppose you also had a problem with Mark's little encounter in Philadelphia, as well?

You were carrying a rifle off the shoulder, locked and loaded with the safety off, and had five loaded magazines in a backpack? And when stopped by the police, you nearly swept them with the barrel?
I really hope you can shed a little light on this, but until your lawyers gives the okay, you probably should stop posting.
