Re: Gun Belts
Find out what holster you want and the size of the belt loops on that particular holster. Use a belt that fits the belt loops in the holster - and, of course, your pants. What you do not want is to have a 1.25 inch belt with a holster that has 1.5 inch holes.

Re: Gun Belts
When I first started carrying I used just a regular leather belt and my gun would sag a bit and was very uncomfortable. Soon after I bought a 5.11 leather casual belt. I have been using them for years now. They are very sturdy and very well priced. You can find them between $30-$40.

Re: Gun Belts
I wear a leather DeSantis belt which I bought locally for about $40.00. Blade Tech also makes a good belt that is priced between $40.00-$60.00. These are not duty belts but everyday belts that come in plain or weaved patterns. I prefer the plain style.

Re: Gun Belts
I just grabbed a desantis econoline belt from target master for $20 and I have to say it feels like its made a difference over my older belt as far as holding the gun closer and distributing the weight. Worth the $20 IMO
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Re: Gun Belts
As others have said look at your belt loops on your pants. Most jeans and khaki's are going to be 1.5". Dress pants are often 1.25.
The belt should be stiff enough that it holds its shape when buckled and picked up while you are not wearing it.
The ones I have now I got at a local gun show. If it was't for the fact that I'm still at the office id take it off and post up the brand.
For casual non-tacticool looking belts look for black or brown leather belts. Ones made for firearms will generally be thicker. If you fashion conscious match your shores. There are some inexpensive nylon belts that are stiff enough but are very utilitarian in their appearance.
Even my LCP in a Mini-Tuck is noticeably more comfortable with a purpose built gun belt that even a good all leather fashion belt."No, it's just a machine. I'm the weapon." - Jack Harper in Oblivion

Necro thread lives.
I use a 1.5" pistol belt I got at Cabela's. It's a little tight getting through the belt loops but it does its job.

Re: Gun Belts
I bought one of these due to wanting to carry a heavy gun and not wanting to wait for a real gun belt(Beltman).

Believe it or not, it holds up my all still CZ75 w/18 round magazine in a leather duty holster along with a spare 16 round mag in a leather mag holster.
That combined with my TCP in my pocket and my Nexus and wallet.
It is comfortable all day long. Holds up well. As stiff as a Galco belt I looked at in the LGS.
I ended up buying a brown one too to carry my S&W 10-6 in a Galco Silhouette.
I still plan on buying a better belt but for the time being I'll wear these until they are shot.

Re: Gun Belts
strangely enough I found a great belt a a western goods store. Then again those wannabe cowboys need big belts to hold their big belt buckles.

Re: Gun Belts
I went to the local Amish tack shop and had them make me one out of harness leather. Super stiff belt for $20.
And I have to say, streaker is as talented at leatherworking as he is clever.Last edited by sprrdhawk44; July 25th, 2013 at 10:50 AM.
