Default XDm .45 Compact (bought one! pic)

I just saw that Springfield Armory has a new XDm model, the 3.8 Compact in .45ACP. I've been waiting for them to make this pistol, and I am pretty excited about getting one.

Unlike the XD45 Compact, this one has a 9 round mag for the compact instead of 10. This results in the smallest grip of any XD or XDm Pistol.

I'm thinking with a Pearce grip extension this might be a really nice winter carry weapon.

Without the grip extention, it is a little son of a gun (no pun intended) to be a .45. I bet you have to hold on to that sucker when shooting it. I'd be interested in knowing as I have never shot a compact, tupperware .45. I have shot a few Kimber carry 1911's and they had a decent kick to them, so I can imagine that this one will be "inspiring" to shoot.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Well it can't have much recoil compared to my S&W 340PD

I can only imagine it being very similar to the Glock 30 with some better ergonomics.

    How is the trigger?

I like a lot about this gun, but i have found the stock xdm triggers very um shitty.

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

Well it's the same as any other XDm.

It's about as good as a factory striker fired trigger gets, designed for self defense not target shooting. I have shot well in drills with my other XDm pistols.
