ATF & State Police: 50 Guns Stolen from York County Gun Shop

    Nava Ghalili Multi-media Journalist

    8:25 p.m. EST, November 13, 2011
    SHREWSBURY TOWNSHIP, York County—

State police and federal ATF agents are investigating a burglary where fifty guns and over $900 in cash were stolen from a York County gun store. "Nobody wants that type of thing happening in an area like this," said Theresa Wilson, who lives nearby.

Troopers said the suspects broke into the Gun Bunker Gun Shop along the first block of East Forrest Avenue in Shrewsbury Township between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The suspects first attempted break into the rear of the building by chiseling out cinder blocks. When that didn't work, they chiseled out a steel covering over a window. Once inside the suspects took over $900 in cash and 50 guns. State police say 5-6 of the guns were
    fully automatic.

"Especially the amount of money they could get for that, somebody's desperate enough to do that," said neighbor Michael Hamulack.

Anyone with information in regards to the burglary is asked to contact State Police at 717-428-1011.

They definitely cased the place first to be ready with chisels and theorizing weak points for possible entry. I hope one of the perps is stupid enough to open his mouth to someone.

I would assume the gun shop has plenty of insurance because he is going to need it. Wow 50 guns! Hopefully they are all found... but I doubt it.

Same MO was used to gain entry to my local shop here in NC (through the block wall), but they set off the alarms when they got inside and were only able to grab a few handguns. I wonder why they didn't have an alarm system with those kinds of weapons in there?

In the interest of accuracy, the Gun Shop was burglarized.

    Be safe (and non-violent).

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the thread title. Not that it hasn't happened before, but a robbery of a gun shop normally doesn't end well for the robber.
