Brand New Ruger LCP w/ LaserMax Laser
I work for a shooting sports distributor. I built up points through the Ruger 4R program. I submitted my form and requested an LCP. We carry a distributor exclusive LCP with a OD frame so I figured I would ask if it were possible to get one of those.
I patiently wait about a month and today I received a call today that it was in. With no indication as to whether I got the frame color I wanted, I anxiously spent the rest of the afternoon wondering. I arrived at my local shop and the owner informs me that my LCP has a laser. Wait a minute...WHAT? No sh@t!! We just added this model to our system last week. I received the BRAND NEW Ruger LCP with the LaserMax Centerfire Laser!
Aesthetically, it looks better than the Crimson Trace lasergrip. You can actually grip this little puppy a bit better without the pressure switch under the meat of your middle finger. On/off is activated by a ambidextrous push button switch in the index position. It turns on very easily compared to the massive psi it takes to turn on the Bodyguard laser. It takes your left hand index finger to shut it off. There is no actual power switch like the CT laser. I don't imagine it could accidentally turn on and run the battery down but that remains to be seen.
All in all, I am totally stoked to have received this model weeks before they could be seen in shops. Hell, Ruger just made the announcement the other day.

Let us know how the trigger is. I've heard conflicting reports, never shot one.

Re: Brand New Ruger LCP w/ LaserMax Laser
Nice setup. Congrats.
I have the LCP with the CT laser. It's a great setup also. There's realy no problem with the grip switch. You don't even notice it. It's nice just gripping the gun and having the laser come on. I'm going on over a year with the original battery even with several hundred rounds and it being my everyday carry piece. I carry it in a Uncle George's wallet holster.Last edited by DonM55; November 11th, 2011 at 07:41 PM.

Re: Brand New Ruger LCP w/ LaserMax Laser
I guess to each their own. My dad picked one of these up a few months ago, and I used it two weeks ago to test some reloads that I made for him (don't own a 380).
I hated the damn thing. Just too small. For concealment purposes its great and I suppose that if you need to use it to protect yourself up close, it will work just fine. Just didn't feel comfortable holding it and because its so small, and depending on the ammo you're using, stings like hell after shooting off a box of 100 rounds.Certified Glock Armorer; Member GSSF, NRA

Yes....to each their own. I never really felt overly comfortable holding one. They just don't fit a hand real well. They are NOT a range gun that you are going to put 100 rounds through. At least that is not what I got it for. It is a deep concealment, concealed carry handgun. It is meant for close quarters. I plan on keeping it in my pocket or get a inside the pant holster and carry at 4 o'clock...that seemed pretty comfy. I also plan on having this in my fishing vest when I go out on the river.
