No, she can not just give them to her father in law.

Direct transfers between spouses, parent/child, and grandparent/grandchild are legal without paperwork.

Yes, and a father in law is NONE of those enumerated catagories

Im not sure what your driving at ??

The title " father in law" is used exclusively to describe the father of one's spouse. I dont see how "adoption" plays into that. A father in law (regardless of how they got to be one) doesnt fall into the list of exclusionary categories for FTF transfers of firearms. At least not in any way I can find, or how I understand the law.

Long day, I read stepdad for some reason

But still a question or two

What is the definition of parent?
What if a step-parent adopts the child?

I dont know the answer, but my limited educated guess would be that since adoption is a legal procedure conferring all kinds of rights and such, and that the adopter is legally considered to be the child's parent in a more formal way then just being married to their Mom or Dad that an adoptee to adopter transfer would fall under the exclusion. Then again, I tend to forget that laws arent written to be logical or make sense in the real world so.................

    For purposes of the UFA:

    1 PA CSA 1991
