Re: speed traps
old news this site is rarely updated
The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose.

Re: speed traps
yes...though that would be easier if highway speed limits in this country were actually set at reasonable rates for the roads instead of so artificially low.
like most of I79, I80, and the turnpike should have a speed limit of about 85 mph if any at all.
4-lane limited-access highways that are designed to safely support speeds of well over 100mph should not have 65mph speed limits.
there is actually a good bit of empirical evidence showing that speed limits do not make highways safer.
here is one of my favorites...it shows how montana had safer highways when they had no speed limit than when the federal government forced them to adopt a speed limit:
http://www.hwysafety.com/hwy_montana_2001.htm
comparing US highway to the autobahns in germany (many of which have no speed limit outside of urban areas) is another englightening exercise.
then there are the numerous cities in europe that have basically done away with traffic signs and traffic laws altogether...and have seen a marked *decrease* in accidents as a result. (the funny thing is that when people can no longer rely on the state to keep them safe via laws, they actually take responsibility for keeping themselves safe...and therefore drive more defensively.)
