homemade gun rack
My friends house up state is very busy as he is biulding it himself and not much room in the basement come hunting season so this year I biult this so we can safely keep our firearms in place without being knocked over or damaged, got the plans off the internet and good the wood from work so I only bought the poly to coat it, did not want to go head over heels as is basement is dusty. who knows maybe when hes completed we can spend more time and money on a nice finished one.

Re: homemade gun rack
Why do it twice? Plywood can be finished. It looks like you built a nice little rack you are half way there. Take the time to sand ,seal and finish it off!

Re: homemade gun rack
I did this as little cost as possible and did not want to put a quality finish on as i know it will get beat up and dusty at my buddies basement, just wanted a gun rack for during hunting season to protect the firearms.
trust me I would have bought a nice oak and stain and made it look ten times nice, but junk wood was at my disposal and only had to buy a small can of poly. I was happy with the ens result and am sure my hunting buddies will like it too.

I like it. It's nice enough and seems like it will do it's job.
