    Default Glock 36 or 21?

Anybody have any reasonable arguments against either?

I took a look at both of them today and the 36 just feels a bit funny because of where the bottom of the mag sits in my hand. I also do not really like only having a 6 rd mag. (I know this should be enough of a reason to not get the 36)

For the 21 it isn't too much smaller then the Taurus Pt-945 that I am currently carrying. It feels lighter and I like the 13 rd mag. I have heard the 13 rd mag called a LEO mag. Is it legal in PA (and other states) to be carried by civilians?

Just trying to weigh the options before I sink a portion of my Tax money into one of them.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I own a 36. It is my primary carry. I like it, easy to conceal. I've never had an issue with it. Break down is a breeze. I always figured if I need more the 2 or 3 rounds of a .45 I'm in a world of hurt anyway and more rounds probably wont help me anymore. I carry 6+1 and an extra clip. It's a great gun. Not too sure about the 21.

Also I don't believe there is a mag round limit in PA. I have a 9mm EAA Witness that can hold 18 rounds. I keep that in the car usually.

Anywho, I find this comparison strange, why are you comparing a subcompact gun with a full size gun? Is this gun for CCW or just target shooting/home defense? If you're looking for a CCW, I wouldn't consider the G21 at all, way too big IMO. The newer G21SF looks neat though, apparently enough people complained and now it has a less meaty grip to deal with.

Nothing wrong with any of them. If you're looking for a carry gun, I'd probably go with the G36 over the G21. It's just easier to carry is all...

And is there some reason you aren't looking at the G30? I find that it sits better in my hand than the G21 (because it lacks that huge as ramp at the base of the grip) and is a little softer in recoil than the G36, due to the heavier upper and wider backstrap.

i'm not a big fan of the 36, its a fairly good sized gun for having such a small clip capacity. Go with a 30 over a 36 IMO if your looking for a smaller 45acp

Why not get a G30? its the perfect size in my opinion. You could even come and fire a few rounds out of mine before you decided if you liked a g30 or not. I love mine.

Red face Re: Glock 36 or 21?

I own both a glock 21 and a glock 36. I find myself carrying the 36 much more than the glock 21 because of the huge difference in the size and weight. I do not find that the 36 shoots any harder than the 21. If i was going to a gunfight, i would without a doubt take the glock 21. This is just my opinion having used and carried both weapons.

just to toss this in there, the g30 compares much better to the g36 than the g21 does. full size glocks are huge. I carry a g29(same frame as the 30 but in 10mm) a majority of the time and its great. This site has a few good comparison charts. http://glockfaq.com/guide.htm
