Talking If you could only have 1 gun, what would it be and why?

A little game my buddies and I were thinking about the other day.

If you could only have 1 gun to use and own for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? (Pistol, Rifle, LMG, etc. Can be anything.)

    Okay, the two catagories.

    1. A single gun based on practicality, and general use.

    2. A single gun for any reason (Holy grail, that one gun you want but will never have etc.)

    RULES:

-Has to be a real weapon. No "M41-A Pulse Rifles" or "Death Star cannons" etc.

-Can be full auto, have various attachments, etc. You have an unlimited supply of ammo for it too.

-You have an unlimited supply of replaceable parts in the event something were to break.

    My picks:

    1. *M16A3* with full size barrel (20'') and gas system. I love them, and they are easy to maintain with proper knowledge. Wide variety of ammo for different uses, and very modular. Lots of bells and whistles for various needs can be outfitted to the gun.

    2. Walther Wa2000. I know I know, something about the rifle is just...unique to me. I really enjoy almost everything by Walther, and the gun is one of my personal "holy grails" since there's only around 14 or so in the USA. Plus, with the choice between .308 Win and .300 WinMag, what's not to like?

    Your turn guys and gals!

    1. hk417 I like the feel of the m16 but it is flawed with too many problems and I dont like .223 (5.56) ammo. the 7.62 on the other hand is a hard on in a shell casing. I really like the improvements the hk 416 and 417 have attributed to the nice ergonomic design that IMO failed because of bad internal design.

    2. G11 caseless ammo means less crap to carry and no waste. I think this is one of the best gun designs I have ever seen (not including metal storm)

(also I assumed picking the MK19 would not be a fair pick since most people don't consider it a gun so I went with the spirit of the thread)

    If it's an M4A1 with a 20" barrel, doesn't that make it an M16A3?

I did not read this as Rifle only? Is it?

Me, Glock 19, TruGlow sights, extended Slide Release. Sixteen rounds of 147g Ranger T, non Plus P. All ready to go. A spare Glock 17 magazine on belt also.

My 1 and only firearm would be my AR-15. I'd like a sturdier hand-guard and a nice red dot as well.

This is too hard. I need a rifle and a handgun at a minimum. No way to choose less.

Practical: Remington 870, smooth barrel with rifle sights. Reliable, self defense, small game, big game, zombies...

Holy Grail: (that is actually attainable) Les Baer Heavyweight Monolith

Holy Grail: (that I will never have) Ma deuce

FN 5.7 pistol, EA protector rounds, burris fastfire 2, and ProMag 30 round mags.

Flat shooter to 200 yards...zero recoil, extremely light weight...

Oh wait... I'm wearing that now.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.
