    Default Poll voting and guns

I am a little unsure and i wish i had asked when i was at the training class today for working at the polls Nov 8.

Does anyone know for sure if you can carry a gun into to building to vote? (Not a school but any other location set up for voting)

I want to know in case of any situations that occur so i know.

A voter can, yes. The Mrs and I have done so. It was quite a hit each time, with the other voters as well as the officials.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Yes. School are even aguable but i would suggest against it. I dont know if officials can carry though that might fall under another illegal law.

Polling workers carrying would fall under terms of employment.

As a PA constable, I was strongly urged not to open carry at the polls. The feeling was that a visible sidearm may be considered intimidating to some voters. I know some of you may not agree with that policy, but I am simply relaying what the training memo said. Our township polling place is in the fire hall, so it is not a prohibited location.

As a Pa. constable, you fall under a different set of rules. You serve the polling place as an official authority figure, representing the state. As such, you are prohibited from intimidating us little people. We, on the other hand, are free to exercise our civil rights free of official intimidation.

That was pretty much the discussion surrounding the memo. It seems some constables show up in uniforms, sidearms, the whole rig. Take it pretty seriously, which is unneccesary.

I always OC when voting at the polls. And, yes, it is legal. Don't know what actually working the polls might change in that respect.

I work at the polls and always carry. There is no restriction against it.
