How much do you love 1911's?

I got this back in 04 after i fell in love with my Kimber! As you can tell that is when the picture was taken also.

Though I have no tattoos, that's a good choice for one. It won't let you down, and it's probably impossible that another gun will express any jealousy as a result of it.

I know I quoted this before, but for the benefit of this thread:
I read an article somewhere online, where the author said, "Holding a 1911 is like shaking hands with John Wayne". As much as I like all the guns I have, the appeal of a 1911 is unique. I love 'em.

An ingenious design and a work of manufacturing art, the likes of which will never be seen again. The single best pistol ever developed and still in military service after 100 years. How could you not love it.

I always like them. But thought they were to complex. Until I broke down and bought one two months ago. Now that I know how simple they are and fun to break down and shoot. I am in love. And I want one of every size and color. This is going to cost me some big money I think. Don't tell the wife.

Shot my new Remington 1911 R1 for the first time a couple of days ago, I don't know why I didn't get one sooner! Love the 1911!

No tats of any description, (although the OP's is really nice) but I do own eleven 1911 pistols, including seven in 45 ACP, three in 9mm and one little SS Colt 380 Govt Model, if that one counts as a mini-1911.

The 1911 was the first semi-auto pistol I ever shot. That was in Marine training in 1966 & I remember thinking how far behind the times the Marine Corps was if it used a gun that was 55 years old. Hell, my Dad carried one in WW II, & his Dad may have carried one in WW I!

I have a "few" other handguns, but I just bought my first 1911 this year & already added a couple others to the list of "must haves." After 100 years, I guess they have the bugs worked out of them.
