Is having / wearing a bullet proof *anything* illegal?

Re: Body Armor - Is It Legal?
I was wondering the same thing the other day. Some anti's might think selling body armor to the general public is anti-police. If it's legal i'm still not shure what the cops would think about it.

Re: Body Armor - Is It Legal?
I believe it's legal as long as you don't use it during the commission of a crime.

Not that I've ever heard of... I've even seen level II and IIa being sold at gun shows...
But then again, IANAL...

Re: Body Armor - Is It Legal?
I don't have the statute handy but IIRC it is perfectly legal [in PA] UNLESS your using it in the commission of a crime.

I know in some areas (NY comes to mind), you cannot wear it if you are a convicted felon.

Re: Body Armor - Is It Legal?
In PA, not a crime. It's a seperate crime to use it while committing another crime. I own personally purchased armor and wear it regularly.

Re: Body Armor - Is It Legal?
I can't remember when it was, but I saw a news report in the fall that was showing a company that was actually making "knife proof" hoodies. Ya know, just in case you find yourself about to receive a stabbin'. They were generally marketing these to inner city school students. What a world we live in !!
