Default Question:High Standard Flightking Model K1211

As the title says,it's a great shotgun but had a problem with it a few weeks ago.My wife likes to shoot it and of course any kind of shot is out of the question at the SGL ranges. So I picked up some 1 ounce slugs for it and went to the range.

I put 5 shots down without any problems.Wife got one shot off and it seemed like it jammed. So home we went and I stripped it down and noticed the carrier one the left side (looking down the barrell) had popped out.I put it back into place and it looks like the side that popped out was bent a hair.

My question is,would the amount of recoil with the slugs have caused this or can I chalk it up to it being 46 yrs old?I've found a place that has the carrier for it,but just want to know if I'm on the right track here.

A little more info I forgot in the opening paragraph:12 gauge pump and not choked.Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Well I'm just gonna order in a new carrier and hopefully this will take care of the problem.
