Finally Picked and Actually Agreed to Purchase a Pistol S&W M&P 357SIG (with .40)
If it looks familiar, it's because it is.
Now I need to find a good holster, eye and ear protection. Getting through the week is going to be tough! lol

Congratulations on your soon to be first firearm.
I have the Safariland 6378 holster for my M&P 40, but there are an abundance of compatible holsters on the market.

FYI you can also shoot 9mm out of that firearm with the 9mm conversion barrel and 9mm mags.

Apex Tactical has a varity or trigger modification for carry and compeition one of the most popular is there Action Enhancement Kit.

There is also a rumor (and just a rumor so far) that Apex Tactical is making a .22LR conversion upper. I emailed them about it this was the reply I got, take what you will from it.
Hello QuackXP,
Thank you for your email! At this point in time we're in the 'rumor phase' so to speak :-)

Its as easy as opening the box that it was mailed in, lubricating it lightly and dropping it in the gun.
Congratulations on a one hell of a powerful duty pistol. The .357 Sig cartridge is a fantastic cartridge that develops anywhere from 10-100+ more FPE than most .45 Auto +P defensive loadings. One of the best is the PRVI PARTIZAN FMJ-SP offerings that sends a 125 grain bullet out of a 4" Sig P229 barrel at 1550 FPS for about 645 FPE. They're cheap enough to use as range ammo for that gun too. They can usually be had for around $23.00 for 50.
I've been issued 4 P229s in .357 Sig, even with some of the tamer (LE Gold Dots) its a truly devastating round. Believe me, I've seen what it does to 700 pound bull Elk.The M1. Smackin' the bastards since 1932.

It's very easy. Removing the slide, barrel, and recoil spring is part of normal field striping for cleaning and will be well documented in the manual. If you did not get one with your firearm go to S&W's website to download one.
.40 and .357 SIG both use the same magazines.Last edited by QuackXP; October 26th, 2011 at 09:25 AM.

I really like the .357sig round myself. Problem is the ammo is overpriced. Its a good round to reload since you can reload it cheaper per round than .40. The M&Ps are nice guns. I prefer the lower bore axis on the Glocks and M&Ps myself. Congrats on the purchase.

I hope no one tells you how easy it is to get skin and dirt and grease (funk) out of that stipple job. If you have children, make sure they always ask for an xtra tooth brush when they go to the dentist.
Good purchase. I believe more than one of us think you'll be much happier with that one than the one you were considering. Be safe and enjoy.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
