"free floating" a synthetic stock
Is is ok to do this for a synthetic stock?

I know youtube isn't the way to do gunsmithing, but would this concept also apply for a rifle with a synthetic stock?

Free floating a synthetic stock isn't really any different than free floating a wood stock. The aim is to get any pressure points between the barrel and the stock removed so that if anything warps or the barrel heats up it doesn't change where the bullet is going when it exits the barrel.
