Default Long's Park (Lancaster) Rules: "No Firearms..."

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything.

Anyone know the deal with this? Is this a city-run park, private?

thanks to the benevolence of Judge Henry Grimly Long and his daughter Catherine Long. Bequeathed to the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1900,

Looks like it's owned by Lancaster City.

Looks like they have a standard No-Discharge Ordinance.

    http://ecode360.com/LA1674#LA1674

    Under Section 210-2 Regulations

Discharge firearms, bows and arrows, air or spring rifles or slings.
[Amended 11-25-2008 by Ord. No. 14-2008]
Lancaster city does have some other interesting firearms related ordinances.

The wording of the sign was odd. It said "No Firearms or Archery". It's odd to me because one refers to a thing, and the other refers to an activity. I guess one could reasonably interpret this as referring to the discharge of firearms. Otherwise, I assume it would be an illegal restriction.

Chances are the sign was never updated after they changed their ordinance from no firearms allowed in parks to no discharge.

I assume it's owned by the city since it is patrolled by Lancaster City PD. I got pulled over there once .

The way things are getting I wouldn't go to that park without a firearm especially in the restrooms. Fruits and pedophiles. hang in them.
I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six!

It's not exactly near there. I suppose if you go out RT 23 to 30 to harrisburg pike its about 30mins or more.

It's near the Park City Mall.
