    Default Just shot my bodyguard....

Wanted a small carry, and ended up with a BG 380. I was pleasantly surprised at my grouping at 30 feet, open site.

BUT my laser turned off after first shot with it on, I got it back on with some fussing(almost ready to go back to gunshop)and it worked for the rest of my 18 shots.

As a side note, I have a laserlyte on my G19 which doesn't seem to last over 500 rounds. I am already sending the second unit back(free replacement not counting shipping this time) in a years time. When it works, I love it though. I hope this problem will be resolved.

Looked at the S&W .38 Bodyguard revolver , didn't like the laser set up , so I went with the Ruger LCR-CT instead. Not too familiar with the .380.

The 380's and 38's are nice, but S&W chose cheap lasers instead of crimson's and are having a lot of problems with them. I've had my 38 for about a year now, and same thing, after you shoot it, it knocks the laser out. If you send it back to S&W be very specific with what you want in a note with gun - i.e. "replace, do not repair laser" - just like some of their guns, S&W service has gone way down. Good luck

Hey, I'm no chemist, I'm just a guy who's never been convicted of murder. I did make a note of your suggestions though.

Subby, I hope it works out for you. I looked at them when I was shopping for a pocket .380. At the time lots of people were sending them back for laser issues, so I went the LCP w/ct route. I heard they since resolved the laser issues, so I hope she ends up being a reliable piece for you. She's sure got better iron sites than the LCP, that's for sure. Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the range report.
